Guest Passes
As of October 2009 the Sapphire Valley Resort has established new rates for guest card fees.  Effective immediately each adult guest card costs $15 for up to 14 days.  If your stay is for one month each card will cost $30.

 Sapphire National Golf Course
The new and improved Sapphire National Golf Club was designed by Florida golf architect Ron Garl who developed an 18-hole golfing jewel at Sapphire Mountain. Scenic splendor and creative design are combined into a wonderful par-70 layout. Sapphire Mountain includes a fine set of five par-3 holes, four of which play over water. The island green on the par-3 15th is a special treat. Another standout feature is the waterfall snuggled beside the 13th green.  There are four sets of tees to suit golfers of any ability. The blue tees measure 6,185 yards, the white tees measure 5,741 yards, gold tees are 5,208 yards and the red tees are 4,547 yards. Sapphire National Golf Club includes a full service “mountain lodge” clubhouse with a large rock fireplace. A recent ownership change has results in upgraded course conditions. It is located in Sapphire Valley, just east of Cashiers.

 Red Bird Golf Links
This 9 Hole executive golf course is located next to the Tennis Center in the Sapphire Recreation Complex.  9:00am -6:00pm.  828-743-1991Red Bird Golf Links and Driving Range   "A Great Place to Play Golf".  Traditional Par 3 and 4 Holes. Level and walk-able course along the scenic Horsepasture River. Pull Carts and Electric Carts for Rental. Driving Range and Practice Putting Green ~ Golf Lessons Available.  Sapphire Racquet Club
8 Har-Tru soft courts and 2 hard surface year-round courts.  Fully staffed and stocked pro shop. Racquet rentals, ball machine rental and season membershiops available. Individual and group lessons & member tournaments available as well. Mon-Fri 8-5, Sat & Sun 9-3. 828-743-1181 

 Workout Room
Exercise facilities are equipped for all levels of devotees and include  2 wall-mounted televisions.  Various fitness classes sometimes offered;  i.e. aerobics, kickboxing or swimming. Personal trainer available.  Call Hank Miller at 828-506-6052. 

 Swimming
Open daily 7:45 am to 9:00 pm. There are three outdoor heated pools and one indoor heated pool.  One outdoor pool is adults only.  Additionally, there are 2 saunas and 2 whirlpools.

 Kids Day Camp
Commencing on June 1, the kids day camp is open from 7:45 am to 5 pm on week days.  A typical schedule can include outdoor activities, arts & crafts, swimming, teamwork, field trips (Fun Factory, Slidiing Rock, bowling & skating), tennis and sailing lessons.  Register by 5 pm the day before.  The daily rate includes lunch and a snack; and the half day rate includes a snack.  The schedule changes weekly so please check the calendar which is published weekly.  For more information and rates contact 828-743-7663.

 TUBE
TUBE (pronounced 2-B).  Largest summer tube run in the Southeast!  One of only three in USA and you can ride all day! Open daily at Sapphire ski area from 10 am to 6 pm.  Reservations strongly suggested.  Please call 828-743-7663 for reservations and rate information. 

 Gem Mine
Sapphire Valley Gem Mine.  13 types of minerals.  Get your "gear" at the Rec Center.  Located between the Rec Center and the Horsepasture River.

 Boating at Fairfield Lake
This jewel of Sapphire Valley sits below Bald Rock adjacent to Camp Merrie-Wood.  Sailboats, peddle boats, kayaks & canoes are for rent; sailing lessons available. Nice beach for swimming.  Guest passes required!  Open every day 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. 828-743-1182

 Hiking
Hiking trails abound, from the trail around gorgeous Fairfield Lake to Panthertown Valley nearby, or for more serious hikers: Bald Rock trail or Chimney Top to name just a few!  Hiking books are available at Highland Hiker or Zoller's Mercantile Store in town.  Appropriate footwear recommended.

 Fishing
Great fishing abounds in Fairfield Lake, the Horse Pasture River or any of the myriad lakes and rivers in Sapphire Valley.

 Weekly Trips
Sign up for the following trips at the Community Center - 743 7663.  For all events please call for rate information. 

Monday, 2:00pm HIDDEN TREASURES OF SAPPHIRE. Tour the "valley" and see places of greatest interest in and around Sapphire Valley. Bring comfy walking shoes as there is minor hiking involved.

Tuesday, 9:00am BILTMORE ESTATES & WINERY TRIP. We will drive to the Biltmore Estates in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Bus leaves the community center at 9:00am - sign up at the CC by 6:00pm Monday. Cost includes trip and admission. Limit 25 per bus - lunch is available at the estate and is not included.

Tuesdays, 9:30am CHEROKEE CASINO EXPRESS TRIP. We will take you right to the front door of the casino for 3 hours of gambling fun!  Sign up by 6:00pm Monday. Return by 3:30pm.

Wednesdays, 8:30am GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS RAILROAD TRIP. This scenic journey departs from Bryson City, travelling along awesome rivers & gorges with a stop at the NOC center where there are restaurants and places to relax by the Nantahala River.  Fee also includes a visit to the train museum.

Thursday, 8:00am NANTAHALA WHITEWATER RAFTING TRIP. Ride our bus to the Nantahala Outdoor center for the thrill of whitewater rafting! The bus leaves at 8:00am - sign up by Noon on Wednesday.

 Snowboarding & Skiing
There are 3 ski slopes available: Bunny Hill and 2 other beginner slopes.  There is also a quad lift and rope pull.  You'll love Frozen Falls, the new tubing run. At the foot of the slopes is a wonderful restaurant called the Four Seasons Cafe.  828-743-4284.
